12 Ballads for Huguenot House

Theaster’s team at the Huguenot House in Kassel

The BLOG (http://12balladsforhuguenothouse.tumblr.com/) where you can keep up with everything that happens in the Huguenot House; concerts, spaghetti nights, reading, yoga, sleeping etc… The creator is the American artist Theaster Gates, who has invited fellow musicians, artists and designers to renovate / revive this old building in the center of Kassel. While I was wandering around, on the three floors of the building, three guys had just finished their lunch (practically I passed between the stove and a cupboard), a man was cutting wood amidst cloud of dust and a young boy was swinging on a sofa-swing. From one room to the other – all the furniture and the objects were built on site – there were video projections of performances that took place and some ideas on what will happen during dOCUMENTA 13.
