Corso Aperto è l’esito espositivo/performativo del XXI CSAV – Artists Research Laboratory della Fondazione Antonio Ratti. L’edizione 2015, Materials for performance, guidata dalle coreografe e artiste americane Yvonne Rainer e Andrea Kleine, si è conclusa con la giornata di performance presentata dai giovani artisti partecipanti.
La giornata, organizzata su due sedi come tutto il workshop, si è tenuta il 25 luglio 2015. La prima parte dell’evento, nel primo pomeriggio, ha trovato spazio nella ex chiesa di San Francesco, ora Spazio Culturale Antonio Ratti: qui hanno avuto luogo due coreografie di gruppo e due lavori individuali. Le coreografie, create in collaborazione dagli artisti partecipanti, hanno coinvolto, in un caso, linguaggio, oggetti, proiezioni e musica, oltre ai corpi dei performer, e la sola espressività corporea e del movimento nell’altro. Le opere individuali, una video e l’altra più marcatamente relazionale, hanno interagito con lo spazio e il pubblico in maniera immediata e coinvolgente.
Al termine delle prime performance, l’attività si è spostata in Villa Sucota, sede della Fondazione Antonio Ratti, dove si sono tenute le performance di altri artisti partecipanti al workshop. Anche in questo caso sono state “messe in scena” collaborazioni ed espressioni individuali; un duo ha realizzato una coreografia accompagnata dalla lettura di testi; un altro ha creato un video e una registrazione audio fruibili attraverso internet, mentre le performance individuali hanno seguito schemi e stili assolutamente differenti: chi ha lavorato studiando l’importante archivio del Museo Studio del Tessuto della FAR; chi ha interagito con lo spazio di una toilette della villa attraverso un intervento sonoro; chi ha sfruttato gli spazi eleganti e raccolti della foresteria per creare coreografie o ambientarvi “sessioni terapeutiche”; chi ancora si è votato alla lettura e interpretazione fisica di poesia, scritta e sonora; chi ha utilizzato gli affascinanti spazi del giardino della villa per creare una propria dimensione evolutiva; chi, infine, ha dato un esito decisamente pop alla serata.
Nella stessa giornata si è tenuta la conferenza di Andrea Kleine, Visiting Professor 2015 insieme a Yvonne Rainer, durante la quale la coreografa americana ha parlato della sua più recente performance Screening Room, or, The Return of Andrea Kleine (as revealed trough a re-enactment of a 1977 television program about a ‘long and baffling’ film by Yvonne Rainer), che l’ha vista ritornare sulle scene dopo più di dieci anni di assenza.

Corso Aperto is the exhibition/performative outcome of the XXI CSAV – Artists Research Laboratory of Fondazione Antonio Ratti. The 2015 edition, Materials For Performance, led by the American choreographers and artists Yvonne Rainer and Andrea Kleine, was closed with a performance day presented by the young participant artists.
Corso Aperto, organized on two venues as the workshop itself, has been held on the 25th of July, 2015. The first part of the event, in the early afternoon, found its place in the former church of San Francesco, now Spazio Culturale Antonio Ratti: here were presented two group choreographies and two individual works. The choreographies, created upon collaboration among the young artists, included – in one work – language, objects, projections and music, beside the performers’ bodies, and body and movement as way of complex expression in another work. The individual works, a video and an installation, interacted with space and public in a very straight and captivating way.
After the first performances, the activity moved to Villa Sucota, seat of the Fondazione Antonio Ratti, where other performances of the workshop’s participant artists took place. Also in this case there were collaborations and individual expressions. A duo created a choreography accompanied by texts reading, and another one realized a video and an audio recording uploaded on the internet; individual works followed very different schemes and styles: the artists studied the important textile archive of the FAR’s Textile Museum, used one of the villa’s toilets to create an audio work, employed the elegant and intimate spaces of the guest house to create choreographies or “therapeutic sessions”, consecrated the villa’s spaces to poems’ reading and physical interpretation, took advantage of the fascinating garden to give body to a developmental dimension, and, in the end, gave a very pop closing to this interesting event.
On the same day took place also Andrea Kleine’s (Visiting Professor 2015 together with Yvonne Rainer) lecture, which introduced the audience to the last performance created by Andrea Kleine, Screening Room, or, The Return of Andrea Kleine (as revealed trough a re-enactment of a 1977 television program about a ‘long and baffling’ film by Yvonne Rainer), that saw her return on stage after more than 10 years’ absence.
